The wing of the economic violation of the Madhya Pradesh (EOW) police, investigated complaints of disproportionate assets, recovered more than ₹ 85 lakh in the form of cash from a bhopal house from a state government employee who consumed some liquid allegedly poisonous during the search on Wednesday, said a person official. During a search at the residence of the Division Officer’s Heroes for Kesawani, currently withdrawing a salary of around ₹ 50,000 per month, an EOW team also recovering documents related to several properties with a Crores Rupee value, he said.
The search operation continued until Wednesday night and the note calculation machine was brought to calculate the exact value of the cash pile found in his home located in the Brairaghh area, the official said. The top division officers, attached to the Department of State Medical Education, claimed to have consumed the bathroom cleaner when the EOW team reached his home, Police Inspector (EOW) Rajesh Mishra told PTI.
Keswani also tried to stop officials from looking for their house and pushing them, he said. “He was rushed to the Hamidia Hospital managed by the government. His condition was stable and he was undergoing treatment for problems related to blood pressure,” said the police supervisor. Towards night, more than ₹ 85 lakh in cash has been found besides documents related to immovable properties and other assets with Crores Rupee’s value in the residence of Keswani, said Mishra.
It is estimated that he has a property worth ₹ four crore, he said. The luxury residence of Kesawani, where expensive decorative goods are found, it itself is worth around ₹ 1.5 crore, Eow official said. The police inspector said the officer had begun his job with a salary of around ₹ 4,000 per month and is currently attracting around ₹ 50,000 per month.
The amount that runs to Lakh Rupees is found to be stored in the bank’s bank account account. He has bought most of the properties in his wife’s name, a housewife who does not have a source of income, the official said. The overall value of the assets explored during the search will be known only after completing the assessment and verification work of the document, Mishra said.
