It was based on twelve patients books: Life and Die at Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer The first season of this series aired on September 25, 2018, in NBC followed by the second season on September 24, 2019. The third and fourth season was released on March 2, 2021, and September 21, 2021. In March 2022, NBC renewed the performance for the fifth season.

New Amsterdam Season 5 Release Date
There were only two episodes left in season 4, and both of them would air on May 24, 2022. Considering that, the fifth season must be released towards the end of 2022 or in the first half of 2023. The new Amsterdam will end well after the fifth season will come in NBC.
