Jeff Bezos Purchases a Fifth Unit In a Historic New York City Building

Jeff Bezos has purchased another unit within the Flatiron District’s pre-war building at 212 Fifth Avenue . The Amazon founder first purchased space within the building in June of 2019, when he bought three units for a complete of $80 million, then spent $16 million on a further unit in April of 2020, and now has purchased a further unit for $23 million, consistent with the ny Post.

The neo-gothic building, which overlooks Madison Square Park, was originally inbuilt 1912 but has since been updated to suit modern life. The building houses a fitness center with an adjoining yoga studio, playroom and game rooms for young residents, a screening room, and a gathering room with a catering kitchen. The units include smart home technology and Gaggenau appliances, along side thoughtful details including custom millwork within the kitchens, hand-dyed sycamore cabinetry, and marble and solid oak flooring. The building’s large windows provide stellar views of Madison Square Park and therefore the World Trade Center further downtown. Bezos’s residency within the building is claimed to extend the property value, consistent with the ny Post.

With this purchase, Bezos officially owns five units within the building, including the penthouse, which totals to over 20,000 square feet of space within the building. The multi-billionaire also has property in Washington state, Texas, California, and most notably, the most important range in Washington, D.C. which was formerly a museum, which he’s spent over $12 million on renovating.
