China once again tried to encourage its military presence in Pakistan, as if to protect citizens and projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), this time through the top diplomat Jichi who recently visited Islamabad.

Yang Jiechi was an influential member of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee (CPC) and known as the main problem solving of the regime in his position as Director of the Central Committee of Foreign Affairs. He is considered as an architect of Beijing’s 21st century foreign policy and reports directly to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Diplomatic sources told News18 that his visit to Pakistan suggested that he might have traveled with a special mission to convince the Islamic allies of the Chinese post in the country. The source added that China was very concerned about the security of the CPEC project in Balochistan.

The Chinese delegation led by Yang Jiechi reportedly gave a briefing to the Head of the Pakistani Army Qamar Javed Bajwa about the slow CPEC projects and filed Beijing’s concerns about the security situation in Balochistan. This month, the police in Pakistan have arrested a prospective suicide bomber who committed suicide. It is planned to blow up him near the convoy of Chinese citizens along the Chinese Corridor of Pakistan. Two weeks before that, a suicide bomb woman blew herself on a university campus in the South Port City of Karachi, killing three Chinese teachers and their Pakistani drivers.

Balochistan is a home for the Dalam Water Port in Gwadar City, which was developed by Beijing under the CPEC. Baloch separatist said they had struggled for decades for the larger parts in the regional mine and mineral resources. They attacked the gas factory, infrastructure, security forces and Chinese interests, which they said were the same as their land occupation and resources in the name of development.
The source said that he had demanded a Chinese military post for the Gwadar I & Zone II economic zone in Balochistan in the first phase. The top diplomat was studied to tell Bajwa that Beijing had invested more than $ 60 billion, but CPEC projects were still incomplete and traded through Gwadar had not yet begun.
